The inspiration for this design is the Neptune Fountain located on the Country Club Plaza at 306 W. 47th St. The fountain was cast in Bromsgrove Guild, Worcestershire, England in 1911. Later, it was purchased by the J.C. Nichols Company and installed in 1953.
