Shuttlecock Designs

Located on the grounds of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art are four giant shuttlecocks.  Each one weighs 5,000 pounds and are 18 feet tall. They were created by the husband-and-wife team of Claes Oldenburg and Coosje Van Bruggen in 1994.

The shuttlecocks have become an unofficial symbol of Kansas City.
